This has resulted in a slightly reduced workload for our Committee Members, while maintaining focus on our objective of protecting and enhancing the biodiversity of the Venus Bay peninsula. We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of our members. …

2017 has seen transitions motivated by structural changes to several of the organisations we traditionally work with. Parks Victoria, the South Gippsland Landcare Network and South Gippsland Shire Council have all experienced a reduction in funding for on ground conservation work and changes to how they interact with community volunteers. The website has been an invaluable tool since the launch in 2010, and is especially useful for new landowners at Venus Bay who can access information from the website free of charge and without commitment to being part of a group. There is great potential for the website to include more interactive opportunities for members and non members who visit the site e.g. wildlife videos, FVBP Facebook page.
